Mattapoisett Harbor
Utilizing the existing stone on site and new native plant material, JJLA developed a new landscape plan centered around entertainment and relaxation for the new owners of this Peter Forbes house in Mattapoisett. Irregular bluestone terraces located around the property allow for different ways to experience the site and access the water. An IPE deck is tucked along the edge of the property for easy access to the harbor for paddle boarding and swimming. Low maintenance plantings replaced detailed gardens beds with drifts of native vegetation and a large area of manicured lawn is replaced with an open meadow. Lastly, large cedar trees were transplanted from the shoreline restoration project into the meadow to bring scale to the existing buildings within the new arrival drive and parking court.
