Willow Fort Garden

Creating a place to entertain, play, and relax was the main charge for this small urban garden in Somerville, MA. Through thorough analysis, JJLA recovered 40% of the property by re-adjusting fence locations at the property line. A new cedar fence provides privacy and air circulation, while acting as a guardrail on the southwest side of the property. The stone from the existing slate patio was repurposed to create a dining terrace adjacent a large play lawn. A whimsical willow fort sits between the play lawn and the birch grove. A stepping stone path winds through the birch grove to a woodland respite.
